Hi! Welcome to our class blog. We're really excited to share our learning and experiences over the next 9 months until the end of the school year. This blog has been inspired by our current learning on "Tomorrow's World", which is on the history and future of technology.
Home-School Connections
Authentic Audience:
Blogs provide us with new ways of learning. We can share our writing, understanding and progress with real people outside our classroom. This means that we have a purpose for our writing which encourages us to do even more.
Curriculum Coverage:
Writing blog posts helps us develop our writing and computing skills in line with the National Curriculum, which is an even better reason to do it!

Collaboration:
A class blog allows us to work as a team! Teamwork isn't always easy, but there is research that shows that students who work in a team on projects make more progress in their learning! This research by the EEF explores it more.
Self-Expression:
Writing for a blog lets us develop our writer's voice. While we do lots of writing in school, learning to write for different reasons and audiences helps us even more. Being able to use our voices to share what we think is a really good way of engaging us in our learning, as shown by this research.
We are really looking forward to sharing our learning with you!
Having a class blog shows our parents what we have been up to so then we can have interesting conversations at home. This helps our grown ups know more about what we're getting up to while we're in school. The EEF shows that parental engagement in learning is one of the most important things to encourage pupils to learn!
