If I were Head Teacher for a Day

 

If I was able to be headteacher for the day, there are a few things I would like to do.

The first thing I would do would be to move Thursday electives to Fridays so we have more time to do the things we have chosen. I'm doing Dungeons and Dragons and I'd love to have more time to be imaginative and creative.

The second thing I would do would be to make all lessons 45 minutes instead of 50 minutes with built-in regulation time for all students. In my class, we often stop at 45 minutes because it can get overwhelming and this gives us time to transition between lessons.

The third thing I would do would be to give classes more time in the library. At the moment only Years 7 and 8 have library sessions, and they only get one a week. It would boost our creativity and reading skills if we could spend more time reading books and answering comprehension questions.

The fourth thing I would do would be to increase the amount of creative lessons we do. We do already have art and music, but I think we would benefit from having drama and dance to help us express ourselves and have more creative freedom.

I'm sure there are more things that would make our school even better - not that it's bad at the moment!
