This year so far has been awesome.
I got into my new school and so much has happened that I can't really explain (but I'm going to try).
In September, I felt nervous before I came to this new school, but once I started I felt better. The grown ups in this school are welcoming and kind and I have made some good friends in my class. We started learning about World War 2, which was interesting because I didn't really think that there would have been a second world war after the first one (I knew a lot more about WWI than WWII).
In October, my teacher had to have an operation so we had to have a different teacher for part of that month. Luckily, she already works in our school so we could meet her before. We ended the month with half term...and Halloween! In school for Halloween, we had a classroom competition for the spookiest room (which my class won) and all of Year 7 had a Halloween party together.
In November, we started our new topic about Tomorrow's World which is the past and future of technology. I have enjoyed this learning because it's fun to learn about how the technology we use everyday was invented - especially the internet. We also did a lot of maths about the four operations and place value.
In December, it was finally nearly Christmas! In class we made a lot of decorations including paper chains, snowflakes and decorating the class Christmas tree. We were also visited by the Christmas duck-elves who have been bringing a little bit of fun to our classroom looking at the things they have every day (my favourite was when they decorated their own little Christmas tree).
It's been a good first term, and I'm looking forward to the rest of the year.
